In general, we can locate, in particular, a birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, or a census record.
For census records, please note that the population census schedules from 1921 have survived only in part. The Slovak National Archives hold population census records only for the years 1930, 1939, 1940, 1950, 1961, 1970, 1980, and 1991, and exclusively for the territory of Slovakia.
Your personal attendance is not required in this procedure. We will send you a power of attorney for signature, which must be signed and sent back to our office. On the basis of this power of attorney, we can submit the necessary applications and communicate with the competent authorities on your behalf.
In general, you do not need to provide any documents. However, if we retrieve and collect vital
records (e.g., birth, marriage, or death certificates) on your behalf, evidence of your family
relationship to the person named in the document may be required in certain cases.
It is possible to search for a birth certificate from that period, however success cannot be
guaranteed. In most cases, however, we have been able to obtain the document.
