In order to register the birth of your child in the Czech registry, you must complete a special procedure with the relevant authorities. This process can be time-consuming and administratively demanding for parents living abroad.
At AKMV, we will be happy to help you with all the steps necessary to obtain a Czech birth certificate for your child, including comprehensive advice and representation before the authorities.
According to Section 4 of Act No. 186/2013 Coll. on Czech citizenship, “A child acquires Czech citizenship by birth if at least one of the parents is a Czech citizen on the day of the child’s birth.” If at least one of the parents was a Czech citizen at the time of your child’s birth, your child born abroad also acquired Czech citizenship.
