Change of Name in the Land Register

QUESTION
I got married and changed my surname. Can I request a change of data in the Land Register electronically? What documents are required for making this change? If I own an apartment in Bratislava and a cottage in another part of Slovakia, can I include both properties in one application?

ANSWER:
If you hold an identity card with a chip, you can easily make this change via the ESKN Portal. After logging into the portal, search in the list of electronic services for Electronic Service No. 20 – Submission of a proposal to supplement data in the title deed in the Land Register – Change of owner’s data. You then simply fill out the form, at the end of which the system will generate your proposal.

By signing the proposal with your eID card, you do not need to attach a document proving the change, provided that the change in the relevant data is evidenced by confirming the applicant’s identity through verification of the validity of the eID card (source).

If your application concerns cadastral territories in different districts, you must submit a separate application for each district office.

If you do not have an identity card with a chip, the procedure for submitting a paper application can be found on our website.
