De-registration of a taxi service vehicle from the concession

Yes, it is the case that if a vehicle is registered under the concession of some taxi service, the technical inspection must be performed on an annual basis. In the sense of Section 47, Paragraph 1, Letter c), Item 7 of Decree No. 137/2018 Coll., establishing details in the field of technical inspection: “A vehicle used for taxi service is subject to a regular technical inspection within a period of one year after its first entry into the registry and thereafter periodically in one-year intervals.” It is similar in the case of the emission control.

There are two options for how to remove a vehicle from a taxi service concession:

1. The faster way is for the entrepreneur who has the vehicle registered in their concession to notify the relevant transport office of this fact.

2. The second option is for the new owner of the vehicle to submit a notification to the transport office requesting the removal of the automobile from the taxi service concession. As an attachment, they shall enclose the registration document proving their ownership and containing the vehicle specifications. Unfortunately, this process is more time-consuming and takes approximately 2 months. No fee is paid.
