Teaching Staff – Questions and Answers
QUESTION
Good day,
In Act No. 390/2011 Coll., which amended and supplemented the Act on Teaching Staff, the transitional provisions of § 61a(10) stated that, as of 1 January 2012, a teaching staff member would receive 60 credits for completing extension studies.
My question is whether this provision was in force on 1 September 2015 and whether it was also valid on 1 September 2017.
ANSWER:
Pursuant to § 61a(10) of Act No. 317/2009 Coll. on Teaching Staff and Professional Staff, as supplemented by Amendment No. 390/2011 Coll.:
As of 1 January 2012, for completing extension studies under § 8a (…), a teaching staff member with at least 3 years of teaching practice, and a professional staff member with at least 3 years of professional practice, shall receive 60 credits, provided that such staff members had not been granted first attestation for such studies or for such examinations by 31 December 2011.
The cited provision, in the above wording, was effective from 1 January 2012 until 1 September 2019, when Act No. 138/2019 Coll. on Teaching Staff and Professional Staff entered into force, repealing and replacing the original Act.
