Freshwater fish farming – business authorization
The business activity “Breeding, processing and trading in protected animal species” is classified as a free trade. However, the breeding of freshwater fish according to § 3 of Act No. 455/1991 Coll. on Trade Licensing (the Trade Licensing Act), as amended (hereinafter referred to as the “Trade Licensing Act”), is not considered a trade.
Only the business activity “Business on other water surfaces under a special regime” is classified as a trade, and it is listed in Annex No. 2 of the Trade Licensing Act among regulated trades.
Professional competence for this trade is demonstrated by:
a) a second-level university education, if the graduate has successfully passed an exam during their studies related to fisheries,
b) full secondary vocational education in the field of fisheries,
c) secondary vocational education in the apprenticeship program of fisherman,
d) lower secondary vocational education, if the student has completed a subject related to fisheries as part of the educational program, or
e) successful completion of the fishery manager exam and at least three years of experience in the field of fisheries.
