Significant Contribution to the Slovak Republic

If the person has made a significant contribution to the Slovak Republic in the economic, scientific, technical, cultural, social, or sports sphere, or if granting citizenship is otherwise in the interest of the Slovak Republic.

Please note that this route is assessed on an individual basis, and we cannot determine eligibility for citizenship in such cases. The Ministry of the Interior (as the competent authority) will request opinions from other competent bodies, such as other ministries, federations/associations, and similar institutions.

Note

To the best of our information, Austria does not permit dual citizenship for its citizens. You will
therefore most likely be contacted by the competent Austrian authority and asked to renounce your
Slovak citizenship in order to retain your Austrian citizenship.
